DUST Number 1

-all dust in the book has a sense of light and airy-ness. Light feeling: like "sprinkled, fell, cast"
-Gatsby's "sunshine" is Daisy. With Daisy now out of his life, his house has become overwhelmed with dust... without her sunshine around, he possibly can't see the dust in the house
-wake of his dreams= dust under his eye is like eye boogers. The dust falls and he awakens.
-Dust on daughter= Passing of the torch. This is ironic, because she is now fated to marry for money like Daisy did, while Daisy wants her to be "a fool".
-blood- Myrtle's blood mixing with the dirt/dust can represent the following:
-Her broken dreams. Daisy kills her and the dust, like Gatsby, ends them.
-Daisy ripped her apart and her dreams. The dust mixing with her blood represents that
they can never be restored because she is dead.
-Her dreams ran just like the dusty blood.
-Sawdust
-Finely milled
-Gatsby is being formed/ he is forming himself with the stories he is telling
-the sawdust falls because he is carving away at the truth
- Nick is carving away at Gatsby's real self
-Pore
-everything is coming together/forming
-Wilson
-white pure
-newly there
-veil like/disguise
-angelic? he is so oblivious that he is innocent?
