FairyTale

- Gatsby standing by the window awaiting Daisy by her window; but is left standing alone. Basically the opposite of Romeo and Juliette. (147)

-"Glass Slipper" Gatsby leaves Daisy for the war (losing the slipper), reunites with her (finds it), relationship shatters (like glass would). (132)

-"Cinderella's Ball"- Gatsby and Daisy's reunion. She shows up, and at the strike of "12" she is gone again. (83)

-also when Daisy shows up at Gatsby's party and finds herself overwhelmed, like Cinderella was at the ball. (104)

-"Transformations" Gatsby transforms like the pumpkin to a carriage, the mice to a horse, and Cinderella's work dress to a ball gown; Gatsby changes from a shy introvert, to a little more open being.(84)

-"Belle of the ball" When Myrtle is at the apartment party the book states that "the room seemed to shrink... and that she was on a squeaky pivot; as if all eyes were on her like what happens in a lot of romance stories. (31)

-"Torture" Wilson locks Myrtle away upstairs like the princess locked away in the tower (136)

-"Robin Hood"-Daisy (rich Maiden Maryann) and Gatsby (grew up poor, Robin)

"Alice in Wonderland"Gatsby (Alice) and is chasing Daisy (White Rabbit) (125)

-also Daisy is always in light colors\white (throughout)

-"THE GREAT ESCAPE" Myrtle escapes Wilson's trap and dungeon (137)

-"Shrek References" Shrek (Gatsby) has to save Fiona (Daisy) by fighting off the dragon (Tom), and because Fiona believes that she must find her "prince Charming", she must not leave with 'just anybody' and has to marry him (131)
